Dr. Mika grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. She attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Biology. During college, Dr. Mika worked as an organic chemistry tutor and gave lectures, quizzes, and one-on-one tutoring to underclassmen. She realized that giving back to the community was extremely rewarding and enjoyed mentoring students in their journey through college. She combined her appreciation for science, art and working with her hands and decided to pursue a career in dentistry.
Dr. Mika then moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Continuing her desire to give back, she became a student leader in volunteer outreach events such as Union Gospel Mission. In her 4th year, Dr. Mika was selected by her professors to become an operative/prosthodontics peer mentor teaching underclassmen how to successfully perform fillings, crowns, and denture procedures. While finishing her doctorate, Dr. Mika received the James and Joyce Oates award for clinical excellence in metallic restorations.
When Dr. Mika is not at the office, she enjoys her free time cooking. Whether it is making home style dishes from Hawaii or developing new recipes, you can find her in the kitchen plating dishes to perfection.
